Department Overview:

Chippewa County 4-H Positive Youth Development (PYD) is committed to empowering youth to reach their full potential by fostering partnerships with caring adults. Serving more than 400 youth annually, our program provides meaningful opportunities to develop essential life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, empathy, generosity, and healthy living. Through these experiences, youth are encouraged to lead, learn, and make their voices heard, preparing them to thrive as engaged citizens and future leaders.

Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age, as the position may involve working with youth in an unsupervised capacity.
- Some post-secondary education is preferred.
- Demonstrated positive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork in a collaborative environment.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Student must be enrolled for credit at an educational institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting

- Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and views the position as an opportunity for professional growth.
- Possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with adult volunteers and youth.
- Skilled in creative and flexible problem-solving as challenges arise.
- Self-directed and self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Evidence of leadership experience in school, community, or organizational settings.
- Experience in youth-related outreach education is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications.-

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Gain hands-on experience in youth development, community engagement, and educational programming. This temporary summer position supports 4-H programs and events under the supervision of the Chippewa County 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator and Area Extension Director.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and delivering youth programs, workshops, and camps.
- Provide on-site support for events such as Summer Camp, Day Camps, Discover Wisconsin, and the Northern Wisconsin State Fair.
- Create and share promotional content (social media, flyers, newsletters).
- Help with volunteer coordination, recordkeeping, and outreach efforts.
- Organize supplies and assist with program logistics.

Physical Demands:

This position involves a combination of computer-based tasks and physically active duties, including outdoor work. Responsibilities may require lifting and moving program materials and supplies.
