Department Overview:

The Sport Clubs and Intramural Sports Departments, under University Recreation & Wellbeing are comprised of over 40 league sports, tournaments and special events offered each year by Intramural Sports, and 50 Sport Clubs that are entirely student run. Sport Clubs are intended for those who have a passion for a particular sport or who wants to learn a new sport, and they emphasize leadership, education and service through skill development team building and socialization. Intramural Sports offer students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in many sports and activities on a competitive and recreational level.

Schedule:

6-12 hours per week. Weeknights and weekends.

Qualifications:

- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, as these are core program times.
- Must attend scheduled trainings to build skills and stay prepared.
- Eligibility to become university driver‑authorized within the first month of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or required to obtain certification within the first month of employment.
- Event management experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Effective problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to balance academic commitments with job responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of sports rules, gameplay, and operations.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Supervise, coordinate, and support practices and events for Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs.
- Serve as a liaison between participants, professional staff, officials, and field maintenance teams.
- Represent Recreation & Wellbeing positively through professionalism and strong customer service.
- Promote safety and proper conduct for all participants, spectators, and staff.
- Assist with setup, preparation, and cleanup of practice and event spaces.
- Apply and uphold all sport policies and procedures consistently.
- Build rapport with participants and Sport Club Officers to foster a welcoming environment.
- Support administrative processes, including ensuring participant paperwork is completed accurately.
- Assist with IM officials development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Coordinators and Assistant Directors.

Physical Demands:

- Respond to emergency situations, which may require a reasonable level of physical exertion.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout all seasons.
