Department Overview:

Stellar Tech Girls is a small, fast-growing education company dedicated to increasing diversity in STEM. We run creativity-driven science and engineering camps where students build projects, experiment, and grow their confidence in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Because we are a small organization, our staff take on meaningful responsibility and work closely with program leadership.

Mon–Fri, 4–8 hour shifts
AM: 8:30–12:30 | PM: 12:30–4:30

Qualifications:

Stellar Tech Girls is hiring Senior STEM Camp Counselors to support hands-on science and engineering camps for girls and non-binary youth ages 9–14. This role is ideal for college students or emerging youth leaders who want real experience working with kids, mentoring younger staff, and contributing to a mission-driven education program.

This position serves as a strong stepping stone toward future roles in education, STEM outreach, youth development, or our leadership internship program.

This position requires Federal Work-Study.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ideal Candidate:
• College student or emerging youth leader
• Experience working or volunteering with kids preferred
• Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Interest in STEM, education, or youth development
• Positive, energetic, and dependable

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Camper Support:
• Assist campers with daily STEM projects and activities
• Provide encouragement, guidance, and one-on-one support
• Help ensure every camper feels included and confident

Leadership Support:
• Help lead warm-ups, transitions, and group activities
• Support classroom structure and positive group behavior
• Serve as a role model for both campers and junior counselors

Program Operations:
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and material organization
• Help keep activities running on schedule
• Support snack time and daily routines

Physical Demands:

Must be able to move around a classroom to work one-on-one with students throughout the day.
