Department Overview:

Schedule:

8/17/25 Anticipated job start. 8/24/2026 undergraduate training week begins. All work will be conducted on-site with scheduled hours with the potential of front desk and occasional evening hours. The center is open 10am-8pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-4pm Friday.

Qualifications:

-Must have completed a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for the academic year.
-Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing throughout employment.
-Demonstrated experience in student services, higher education, operations, program coordination, or related fields.
-Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
-Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to fostering inclusive, welcoming environments.
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
-Availability to work occasional evening hours to support center operations and programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Knowledge of or interest in student affairs, student services, or higher education operations.
-Strong organizational and systems-thinking skills, with attention to detail and process improvement.
-Ability to manage operational systems such as scheduling tools, shared inboxes, reservation platforms, or data tracking systems.
-Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of students and campus partners.
-Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to analyze and summarize data to support program assessment and decision-making.
-Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
-Ability to supervise, train, or provide guidance to undergraduate student staff.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Center Operations & Systems Management
-Oversee daily center operations, including room reservations, supply management, and the service email account.
-Maintain and improve front desk systems, procedures, and workflows to ensure welcoming and efficient student experience.
-Develop and update operational documentation and training materials.
-Supervise, train, and support undergraduate Operations Interns.

Program Execution & Support
-Serve as the lead for the Business Badger Mentor Circles program, including communications, participant tracking, and logistics.
-Provide logistical support for select center programs and events, including occasional evening coverage.

Assessment & Data Management
-Track and compile center usage data and program participation metrics.
-Prepare summary reports to support assessment, strategic planning, and annual reporting.
-Identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance center operations and student experience.

Student Staff Development
-Assist with onboarding and training of undergraduate student staff.
-Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery and student engagement.

Other Duties
-Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered environment within the Multicultural Center.
-Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

This position requires light physical activity, including cleaning and maintaining the center, wiping down surfaces, and moving or rearranging furniture to support events and daily operations.
