Department Overview:

The Department of Plant Pathology carries out teaching, research and outreach on plant
diseases, disease-causing organisms and approaches to improving plant health.

Qualifications:

Prefer students now finishing Sophomore year (alternatively, Freshman or Junior).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Prior UW-Madison coursework in biological and chemical sciences.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Student needed to assist with general lab operations. We study the molecular basis of disease resistance in plants. Duties will include laboratory dishwashing, making solutions, ordering and stocking lab supplies, and the planting, growth and harvesting of plants and plant-parasitic nematodes. Future growth toward helping with molecular biosciences experiments is anticipated. Best if can work a few shifts in April to be oriented by current student employees. Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift and move 30 lbs.
