Flexible hours between Monday and Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT. We work around your class schedule! Hours can change every semester.

The duration of this appointment is for the 2025-26 academic year with the opportunity to extend beyond.

Qualifications:

You Are:
• A current UW–Madison student (additional consideration given to individuals pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing).
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
• A clear communicator and collaborative team member.
• Enthusiastic about learning new tools and technologies.
• Interested in websites, digital media, and online communication.

You’ll Enjoy:
• Editing and optimizing website content.
• Analyzing key web metrics and customer journeys.
• Creating graphics or video content.
• Testing new ideas, including emerging AI tools.
• Contributing your skills wherever they’re needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The following experience is preferred, but not required:
• Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems.
• Basic HTML.
• Google Analytics or Looker Studio.
• Email marketing tools (Eloqua, Constant Contact).
• Collaboration tools (Box, Google Drive, Teams, Zoom).

Position Summary/Job Duties:

As a Web Marketing Student Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in making our website the best it can be. You’ll work closely with our Marketing Director and Marketing team to:
• Monitor website performance (like load speed and core web vitals) and suggest improvements.
• Keep content fresh by updating page templates, copy, and media.
• Improve visibility through search engine optimization (SEO), including page content, meta tags, and metadata.
• Review page design and embedded features to enhance user experience.
• Track analytics to understand traffic, visitors, conversions, and the full customer journey.

You won’t just be updating web pages - you’ll be learning how web & digital marketing works, practicing real-world skills, and contributing to projects that make a difference for professional engineers and technical experts across the world.
