Department Overview:
The Business and Math Bridge (BAM) program supports incoming undergraduate business and pre-business students placing into pre-calculus math courses. It is an early start program that takes place before fall term classes start and allows students to move in early and to develop their math skillsets ahead of their first semester of college. The program will consist of math content and study skill development as well as networking opportunities, a mini case competition, and exposure to core business constructs, all framed through a math-centric lens.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:
Minimum: two days of training (16 hours of training total) and roughly 9:00-5:00 pm for the 8 days of the program (about 67 hours total for the program) (seasonal)

Qualifications:
-Must be located in the United States (international students are welcome to apply, but we cannot hire students who are residing in another country) -Must have earned at least an AB in Calculus 1 -Overall GPA of at least 3.25 (3.5 GPA + Preferred) -- Note: if you don’t have a GPA for your graduate degree yet please note your cumulative undergraduate GPA
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
-Teaching or tutoring experience desired -Interest in working with students from various backgrounds
Position Summary/Job Duties:
-Lead full class instruction (including reviewing material, classroom management, and discussion) -Work in 1:1 and small group tutoring with students -Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment -Work under the supervision of the Math Bridge Coordinator -Support and collaborate with the Undergraduate Peer Mentors -Develop and provide training for the Undergraduate Peer Mentors -Complete training for the position (both in person and asynchronous) The program will consist of math content and study skills development as well as networking opportunities, case competitions, and exposure to other core business constructs, all framed through a math-centric lens.
