Department Overview:
The Chapman lab in the Department of Neuroscience has several interests related to membrane trafficking in neurons, including the nano-mechanics of membrane fusion reactions, the synaptic vesicle cycle, and synaptic transmission and plasticity. We employ a wide range of techniques including single-molecule/single fusion pore biophysics, imaging, and electrophysiology

Qualifications:
While there are no class pre-requisites and you will be trained in all tasks, the ideal candidate will be a science major interested in pursuing research. The lab genotyping position has the possibility to expand into a research position for the right individual. All years may apply, though preference will be given to those who can make a 1+ year commitment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The student hourly will assist with tissue collection from mice, run PCRs and gel electrophoresis and genotyping.
Physical Demands:
May need to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally
