Department Overview:
The Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic+ offers a range of courses. We teach more than a dozens languages, including Danish, Dutch, Finnish, German, Icelandic, Kazakh, Norwegian, Old Norse, Polish, Russian, Sami, Serbo-Croatian, Swedish, Turkish, and Yiddish. Schedule:
50% appointment meeting with students Monday - Thursday for 50 minute sessions, or MW for 100 minute sessions. Times will vary based on course session.
Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:
Minimum: $1,570/biweekly

Qualifications:
Native/near-native speaker or advanced proficiency (fluency and accuracy) in German; excellent oral and written skills in German and English; current graduate student.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Commitment to quality teaching; organized, enthusiastic, and able to work collaboratively with other instructors; experience using Canvas and PowerPoint/slide decks. Preferred: Language teaching experience at the college level; experience with studying German at the college level.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Classroom instruction Lesson planning Grading homework, writing assignments, quizzes, and exams Oral exam administration and grading Holding office hours Attend weekly coordination meetings Organize at least one outside-of-class language activity for students
