Department Overview:
The Divisional Human Resources team works within the Administrative Services unit at the School of Education. The HR Team is responsible for all Human Resources Functions within the school, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, payroll, benefits, and workforce relations.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at UW-Madison Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Management is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
General customer service experience or administrative experience is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the interview process Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the Divisional Human Resources team with administrative tasks for the School of Education. Provide support in maintaining personnel records, updating HR systems, and handling confidential information Perform regular audits of HR files and records to ensure compliance with university policies and legal requirements Create and assist with the documentation of processes and procedures and assist with applicable website updates Provide project support for various HR projects Assist with divisional audits, including but not limited to criminal background checks, position of trust, required training and employment authorization compliance Perform other HR and administrative duties as needed
Physical Demands:
Sitting for extended periods, frequent use of a keyboard/mouse, and viewing of computer screen and occasional lifting of light office supplies or files.
