Qualifications:
Candidates must be available in person in Madison starting August 20, 2026. International students must have obtained or be able to obtain a score of 45 or higher on the UW SPEAK test.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Candidates must know the elements of Physics; this knowledge will be assessed by a series of quizzes that cover the same material as the classes that need TAs. Candidates must have or be able to develop the skills needed to communicate using a blackboard/whiteboard. Candidates must have or be able to develop the skills needed to work as a member of a teaching team.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
33% and 50% Teaching Assistant (TA) positions may be available in Physics 103, 104, 106, 109, 201, 202, 207, 208, 241, 247, 248, 249, and/or 307. Duties typical of TA positions in these courses include leading discussion and/or lab sections; holding office hours; grading exams, lab notebooks, and homework; leading review sessions; and meeting with course faculty.
