Department Overview:

The Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives provides groundbreaking cultural programming for the UW-Madison and broader communities.

Schedule:

Rehearsal hours scheduled around Ensemble and Director Availability.
Event Hours scheduled around Outreach Engagement Requirements.

Qualifications:

- Current First Wave Scholar in good academic standing.
- Demonstration of artistic excellence in writing, performance, music, dance, or other art forms central to First Wave.
- High-level understanding of First Wave's mission and goals.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Aptitude for balancing artistic, academic, and professional responsibilities.
- Capacity to produce and perform multi-disciplinary art collaboratively with director and members of the ensemble.
- Must satisfy a criminal background check and successfully complete I-9 verification before beginning the position

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Develop Work, Rehearse and Perform for Outreach Engagements
- Assist with tabling, workshop facilitation, event hosting, and community-facing engagements.
- Fulfill logistical requirements of touring ensemble members, including preparation, scheduling, and communications.
- Complete special projects assigned by AEPM
- Represent OMAI/First Wave in a professional manner

Physical Demands:

Performance, tabling and outreach is required by ensemble members.
Director will work to make accommodations as outlined by ensemble members.
