Department Overview:

The Undergraduate Program in the Wisconsin School of Business is home to a thriving learning community where students gain lifelong friends, develop skills for their dream careers, and position themselves to excel in an everevolving business world. The Undergraduate Program serves upwards of 5,000 students across 12 different business majors, our pre-business population, and certificate programs. Schedule:

30 - 35 hours in total for the entire semester. Possible work during nights and weekends.

This role is a combination of independent social media work as well as attending key events to capture content. They will also have meetings with their supervisor and the larger WSB communications team.

Qualifications:

Must be a current UW undergraduate student.

The ideal candidate is a student majoring in business with strong skills in social media, video editing, and writing.

Candidate should have experience using social media for business/professional purposes. This may include student organizations or campus entities.

Must demonstrate a high level of responsibility and reliability, have great attention to detail, be able to work with minimal supervision, and conduct oneself in a professional manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:
● Must be comfortable talking directly to the camera and creating dynamic short-form video content (e.g., Instagram Reels and TikToks).
● Demonstrated skill in editing short-form video using programs such as CapCut, Edits, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-focused content.
● Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content management, and best practices for digital engagement.
● Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in branding, design, and content presentation.
● Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

Preferred:
● Basic graphic design skills and an understanding of visual communication principles.
● Experience with Adobe Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Canva.
● Demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm for storytelling through digital media.
● Willingness to learn emerging digital communication technologies.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

As an ambassador, you will be expected to bring your authentic voice, creativity, and professional pride to the role.

Deliverables: You will be required to create a minimum of four (4) high-quality posts per semester.

A post can be defined as an edited video, carousel, or photo. The post format will be agreed upon by you and the Undergraduate Engagement team before creation. At least two of your semester posts must be videos featuring you speaking to the camera.

Cross-Platform Reach: While your primary focus will be creating content for the undergraduate program social media channels (@wisconsinbusinessbadgers), your content may also be featured on the WSB official website, email newsletters, and other school marketing materials.

This is a paid position at a rate of $15 per hour. You will be expected to work 30-35 hours in total throughout the entire semester.
