Department Overview:

The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) is a unit in the UW-Madison Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS), and part of the International Division.

Qualifications:

We are looking for tech savvy applicants with:

• Experience updating website content

• Demonstrated communication skills, including some experience with social media

• Ability to work 10 hours per week, including 4 hours from 10:30am - 2:30pm on Fridays.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

We are especially interested in applications from students with a connection to Southeast Asia and/or international studies.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

JOB DUTIES

• Updating CSEAS website content

• Posting lecture announcements on Facebook

• Helping process incoming email

• Greeting visitors and answering the telephone

• Recording our weekly Friday lectures and uploading the recordings to YouTube

• Helping with coffee and tea for our lecture series from 10:30am - 2pm on Fridays

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

Attention to detail, dependability, work standards, communication

Physical Demands:

Working on a computer in our office and helping set up refreshments for weekly lectures in a room across the hall.
