• Experience working with youth. (Because this position interacts directly with youth campers, chosen candidate must complete a State of Wisconsin background check.)
• General knowledge of and experience with a variety of fiber arts a plus. Experience with machine- and hand-sewing required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Capable of working independently.
• Ability to multitask effectively in an environment with many possible things happening at once.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Youth Programming Coordinator (YPC) will provide on-site support for TAC’s summer youth programming, including six camps for youth ages 8-18 in crochet, quilting, fashion design, sewing, and wool arts. The YPC will serve as a public face for the organization during their shifts, meeting teaching artists, families and youth campers, facilitating camp set-up and clean-up, and supporting camp teaching artists throughout each camp session (generally M-F, 9am-12pm). The YPC will also assist with administrative tasks related to TAC’s youth programming, including creating and implementing a TAC summer camps toolkit for internal-, family-, and public-facing processes and communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Camp Support
• During each shift, arrive 30-60 minutes before camp start time (8:00-8:30am, weekdays); setting up tables, chairs, and any equipment/tools/supplies, as needed for each camp.
• Assist teaching artists with load-in and additional set-up, as needed.
• Greet camp participants, facilitate camper check-in process.
• Provide support to teaching artists throughout camp, working directly with youth to help with techniques they’re learning that day.
• At close of camp, facilitate camper check-out process.
• At close of camp, work with teaching artist to ensure space is cleaned up. Assist teaching artists will load-out, as needed.

Administrative
• Assist with developing a TAC summer camps “toolkit” to include creating and/or compiling internal-, family-, and public-facing processes and communications including for camp scheduling, marketing/advertising, teaching artist paperwork, camper paperwork, family FAQ, check-in and in-camp experience, post-camp surveys and follow-up.

Note: Additional opportunities related to fiber art and/or youth programming could be included in the position if time allows and if candidate has existing related expertise.

WAGE: $16/hour (for students with work study OR $800 summer stipend (for students without work study)

Ability to lift 20-40 pounds to move and set up folding tables and chairs and help teaching artists with load-in of their supplies to the TAC facility. Some amount of set-up and/or load-in/out will be a part of nearly every shift at TAC.
