The UW–Madison Prison Education Initiative (PEI), led by the Division of Continuing Studies and the School of Education, gives learners who are incarcerated in Wisconsin state prisons the opportunity to reframe their futures through higher education. The UW-Madison PEI is seeking tutors in partnership with the Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS). |

Qualifications: |
• Must be a current UW Madison undergraduate or graduate student. Graduate students preferred. • Must pass a background check and complete additional security processes • Must have a valid drivers license in the United States • Must be willing to work onsite and the Oakhill Correctional Institution • Must be able to get approved to drive a UW Fleet vehicle or willing to drive yourself to and from the Oakhill Correctional Institution Must have experience or interest in working with marginalized populations in the prison system. |

Position Summary/Job Duties: |
Academic tutors will work onsite at the Oakhill Correctional Institution on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30 pm. Tutors will provide support to students through one on one and small group tutoring that focuses on course content and study skills strategies. Tutors will spend time reviewing course material, asking and answering thoughtful questions, preparing students for exams, reviewing exam results with students, and coaching on study skills. |

Must be willing to work onsite at the Oakhill Correctional Institution and able to drive a vehicle. |
