Position Summary/Job Duties:

Head Student Supervisors for Starbucks are responsible for maintaining a constructive workplace by training and developing student employees in all aspects of the coffee house, including sanitation and food safety. Under the direction of the Unit Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating the stocking of products, the weekly counting and reporting of the store inventory, and cleaning and maintaining the Starbucks store.

  • Assist Unit Manager in operating and maintaining the Starbucks store operation.
  • Assist Unit Managers in directing and supervising student employees.
  • Hire and schedule team members, working within the policies set by Housing Human Resources.
  • Organize and conduct orientations and training.
  • Coordinate stocking of products, cleaning, and general upkeep of Starbucks.
  • Oversee the weekly counting and reporting of the product inventory.
  • Maintain student employment records, such as sick-calls, exam excusals, timecards, schedules, and employment paperwork.
  • Help Administer unit budgeting, labor analysis, and payroll tasks with the assistance of Office Student Supervisor.
  • Check and correct all student payroll information when necessary; sign and submit to payroll office by 10:00AM on Monday.       
  • Evaluate student employee performance and offer additional training and support when necessary.
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback to student employees.
  • During the Academic Year, participate in the implementation of the campus WiGrow student employment initiative.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Preference given to applicants with experience in University Housing Dining and Culinary Services.
