Department Overview:

The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Schedule:

We are looking for individuals to assist the Wiscard Office in Summer SOAR Operations.

Monday- Friday

8:15am- 1:00pm

8:30am-1:00pm

9:00am-1:30pm

10:30am-5:00pm

1:00pm-5:00pm

Minimum Hour Expectation

15-20

Unit Hours

The Wiscard Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

 

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Produce University ID cards for students, faculty, staff, and guests of UW-Madison and provide administrative support for the Wiscard Office.
  • Copy, file, answer telephones and route calls to appropriate staff. 
  • Provide customer service, run errands, and other assigned duties.
  • Assist with online photo submissions for SOAR students.

Qualifications:

  • Basic office and computer skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to stay organized with attention to detail 
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision and follow directions 
  • Handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced office
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check

Student Status

To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
