Department Overview:

The Network Applications group is responsible for applications development in support of Network Services, including software
used to automate, configure maintain and monitor the network. Network Applications also develops a variety of video and voice
applications, as well as interfacing with other groups in support of service delivery. Authorized Agents are campus technical staff
who use the Authorized Agent Network Tool Suite (AANTS) to manage the campus-wide network at the
school/college/department level and to manage Virtual LANs (VLANs) without direct access to the campus-networking
infrastructure.

Schedule:

Office hours are 8:00am-4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.Seeking a student to work an average of 20-40 hours per week during the summer, and 10-15 hours during the school year. We offer flexible scheduling, working around class schedules and academic or other obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and software to support campus VoIP phone system.

  • Enthusiastic and patient person who can handle a variety of different situations and users. Prior customer service experience is highly desirable, but not required.

  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn HTML at a basic level.

  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective team member skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Provide in-person and off-site support to staff for the deployment of Cisco VoIP telephones in buildings across campus.

  • Assist with day-to-day VoIP operational tasks including moves, adds, changes, and deletes. 

  • Create and maintain internal VoIP Knowledgebase for operational tasks

  • Work in Excel to help create and maintain departmental documents.

  • Assist with day to day tasks supporting campus phone system and Network Applications staff as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds to move Network Applications hardware.
