Department Overview:

UW Transportation Services is a fast-paced department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs.

Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community.

The Student Field Maintenance Technician’s primary functions include assisting with day-to-day operations in the parking ramps with campus blocking projects, ramp maintenance tasks and projects. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting with construction tasks that take place on campus and at the hospital. This position is an exciting opportunity to see behind the scenes of many initiatives that take place on campus.

Candidates must have the ability to work outside throughout the year.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, judgment, and problem-solving, strong client focus.
• Ability to work independently.
• Deadline-oriented, quality-oriented and efficient.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites Required.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Transportation Services is seeking a student employee to support the Field Services Department with Maintenance Operations which includes:

• Assisting department with maintenance operations which includes ramp projects, cleaning & blocking.
• Assisting with reports as needed
• Organizing campus ramp blocking requests for special events throughout campus.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
