The Office of Inclusion Education (OIE), a part of Student Affairs at UW-Madison, seeks to create a place where all Badgers feel like they belong. We offer a broad array of learning opportunities for students that contribute to their Wisconsin Experience. Peer facilitation interns work closely with professional staff to develop programs, workshops, and resources focused on building awareness, capacity, and skills related to intercultural education and dialogue. |

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
Experience in and exposure to peer leadership and facilitation (via coursework, scholarship, campus or community engagement, etc.) Understanding of and commitment to student development ideas and student engagement on college campuses Ability to work with a wide array of backgrounds, ranging from various career interests, study habits, communities across campus, and personal backgrounds Strong interpersonal and written communications skills Interest or experience in program assessment and evaluation Ability to make a commitment for the academic year Enrolled as a UW-Madison student in good academic standing while employed Experience working with presentation software (e.g. Canva, Google Slides, Power Point, Menti, Outlook Calendar, etc.) Ability to work collaboratively with other interns and staff Ability to work independently and balance multiple responsibilities and tasks at once

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Overall Intern Job Duties Job duties of all Interns in OIE are listed here followed by specific duties for each position. Support the mission of the Office of Inclusion Education Build and sustain relationships with UW-Madison community members to help identify unique areas of needed support across campus Hold regular office hours to be accessible to students Assist with general office operations (maintaining office hours, upkeep of office space, organizing before and after events, etc.) and supporting the brand development and recognition across the entire campus of the Office of Inclusion Education
Peer Facilitation Intern Job Duties:
Peer Facilitation Interns work with the professional staff to support the Office of Inclusion Education’s skill building workshops, programming, and resource development. These programs provide education, reflection, and community opportunities for students, staff, faculty, and community members.
Specific responsibilities include: Assisting in the development, facilitation, and assessment of student success and skill building workshops (exploring your identities and connections, navigating dialogue across difference, building inclusive environments, etc.) Develop and execute out-of-classroom hands on educational programs aimed at building student belonging, leadership, and growth Building and strengthening relationships with diverse student populations (registered student organizations, varying departments and disciplines, schools/colleges, and offices, etc.) Create outreach materials (flyers, graphics, etc.) to promote the awareness of programs, events and services. Attend 1:1 meetings with direct supervisor, team meetings, intern gatherings, and ongoing, required training (dates will be shared well in advance).
