Department Overview:

The Morgridge Center for Public Service (MCPS) promotes citizenship and learning through engagement with local, national, and global communities. Schedule:

Lead Tutors are expected to be on site at their designated MMSD site at least 2 days per week. A minimum amount of coordination and planning can be conducted remotely or from the Morgridge Center for Public Service.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $16.00

Qualifications:

Student Status, you are required to be directly enrolled in a course.
Work Study Eligible students only.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Effective organizational and time management skills
Ability to collaborate with school and program staff to support tutoring and mentoring efforts
Commitment to the values of equity and responsible community engagement
Ability to adapt to change
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Site-specific coordination with designated MMSD liaison.
- Supporting tutor team: coordination of travel for tutor team; facilitating monthly team reflection sessions; individual check in’s with tutors, as needed; etc.
- Tutoring/mentoring: expected to be on site at least twice a week.
- Morgridge Center Support:
Attend Center trainings and team meetings:
Fall Orientation (September 12 & September 19)
Monthly Tutor Leader Meetings
Reflection sessions
Workshops/trainings

No physical demands required.
