Department Overview:

Camp Woodbrooke is a nonprofit overnight camp dedicated to fostering simplicity, harmony, and peace. Since the 1960s, we’ve provided a unique, inclusive environment for campers to connect with nature and each other. This summer, we’re excited to debut a brand-new kitchen facility and welcome a Kitchen Coordinator to lead culinary efforts that nourish our vibrant community.

It is an on-site overnight camp. Teen Trip Camps are a two-week duration plus a day of prepping and a day of debriefing.

About Camp Woodbrooke

Camp Woodbrooke is a non-profit, nature-based summer camp rooted in Quaker traditions, emphasizing community, diversity, and personal growth. We provide a supportive and engaging environment where campers build confidence, develop outdoor skills, and form lasting connections.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Teen Trip Leader to supervise and mentor campers (ages 13-15) through outdoor adventures, including a 100-mile biking trip along Wisconsin’s scenic Rails to Trails routes. The role involves leading group activities, ensuring safety, fostering teamwork, and helping teens develop confidence and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a group of up to 10 campers on biking and camping trips.
  • Maintain a primitive campsite as the group’s home base.
  • Facilitate outdoor activities, including biking, canoeing, and team-building exercises.
  • Ensure camper safety and well-being throughout the trip.
  • Collaborate with co-leaders to implement the Teen Program curriculum.
  • Organize and lead a service project with the teen group.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $1,060 for 17 days / $2,120 for 34 days, with potential for additional work.
  • Housing and meals included.
  • Opportunity to gain leadership experience in a dynamic outdoor environment.
  • Program dates: June 22 - July 7 & July 11 – 27 (with possible additional work before/between trips).

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in outdoor leadership, recreation, or adventure programming.
  • Strong communication and group management skills.
  • First Aid & CPR certification required (Lifeguarding required, Wilderness First Aid preferred).
  • Minimum age: 21.
  • Experience with biking, canoeing, and primitive camping.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Passion for working with teens in an outdoor setting.

Physical Demands

Must be able to bike, lift, bend, and back-pack over long distances. Physically demanding
