All job duties of this position will be able to be performed remotely until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:

2-3 (10 hours per month)


Work between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with some evenings/weekends commitments. Flexible scheduling. Bimonthly one-on-ones with your supervisor.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

$585.00/semester, Lump Sum

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Position Summary:

The Badger Volunteers Executive Board (BVEB) supports the BV program in an expanded and dedicated role. Executive board members engage in a heightened leadership position and help guide decisions, generate ideas, and provide feedback in order to ultimately better meet community needs. Executive Board members support essential program operations and also help to make the Badger Volunteers program a more accessible and supportive community.

The Badger Volunteers Executive Board is comprised of 11 Badger Volunteers who provide leadership, direct programming support, and serve on the following committees: Media, Community Development, and Educational Programming. Each committee is chaired by a BV Intern and has 2-3 additional members. The educational programming team member position includes a role on the educational programming committee.

Job Duties:

  • Co-facilitate team leader and regular volunteer orientations at the beginning of each semester
  • Provide ongoing support, including bimonthly check-ins, to a group of team leaders
  • Attend annual board planning retreats in August and January
  • Attend monthly Badger Volunteers Executive Board meetings, bimonthly one-on-ones with the BV Coordinator, and regular educational programming committee meetings
  • Spearhead integration of the UW Leadership Framework into all levels of Badger Volunteers programming
  • Co-develop and implement regular, required Badger Volunteers reflection for all BVs at all levels of the program
  • Collaborate with committee members to plan and host 13 to 18 workshops and education sessions per semester
  • Develop partnerships across campus and the Madison community to ensure equity and diversity of guest speakers for educational programming
  • Lead development of peer mentor model across all levels of Badger Volunteers
  • Track workshop and education session attendance
  • Distribute surveys to gather feedback on all educational programming and utilize feedback to create responsive, intentional changes as needed
  • Facilitate monthly board meetings on a rotating basis
  • Assume additional responsibilities as appropriate
