10 hrs/week (during academic year), 40 hrs/week (during summer/breaks)
Schedule:
Flexible schedule; 10 hours per week during the academic year; Up to 40 hours per week during the summer (flexible depending on student schedule and preferences). Please specify preferred hours/week and availability for coming 6 months in cover letter. This position has hybrid flexibility. Availability for weekly in-person is ideal.

Qualifications:
The Science Communication and Digital Media Intern will join the research and outreach activities of Prof. Tracey Holloway, and will work to support a range of communication and digital media projects. Students hired through this initiative will join a team of multimedia specialists with different skillsets to help a wide-range of scientific projects develop visual clarity and professionalism. This opportunity provides great professional development and fosters a one-of-a-kind learning environment for individuals who would like to learn more about science communication. Having experience in one or more of these categories would be preferred: social media, excellent writing skills, marketing, GIS, Python, R, web site design/updating (such as with Wordpress), newsletter management (such as MailChimp or Eloqua), photography, videography, or graphic design. Please specify strengths or experience in these areas in the cover letter.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Familiarity designing within a set of guidelines • Experience working on graphic design or multimedia content
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Job duties include: • Deliver professional, compelling content and/or designs for numerous projects across the department • Contribute to website design and content management • Collaborate with scientists to summarize news and updates in various formats (text, social media, video, etc.) • Collaborate with scientists to help visualize scientific data • Assist in creative concept development for improving scientific communication across multiple platforms • Conduct analytics on social media, website, and newsletter performance • Juggle multiple projects while effectively managing deadlines
