Tutor Position:
The College of Engineering is seeking undergraduate students that have a willingness to facilitate student understanding in engineering core courses and beginning engineering courses. We are looking for several tutor positions to start in the fall. If you are passionate about making the College of Engineering a place for everyone and helping all students learn, then this is the place for you! Additionally, you will further your educational goals by reviewing your previous courses and expanding your own knowledge, and you can acquire many transferable skills such as leadership, communication, time management and problem-solving skills. With more than 60 STEM courses supported, if you like teaching we have a place for you.
Facilitator Position:
The Undergraduate Learning Center (ULC) is looking for an undergraduate facilitator to help students succeed in foundational courses that have traditionally proven challenging. The ULC has InterEGR 150 – PrEPS (Practicing Engineering Problem Solving) courses to help students in EMA 201, EMA 202, Physics 201, Physics 202, ME 240, Math 221, Math 222, and Math 234. Facilitators prepare a short lecture, then facilitate a group work session with students to help them gain a better understand of the course material.

Summer STEM Catalyst Program Student Help summary: The Residential Peer Mentor for the Summer STEM Catalyst Program will be an integral part of a residential program within the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement (DDEEA). The Summer Catalyst Program aims to host 18 incoming first-year UW-Madison students on-campus for four weeks. During the program, students will conduct research in world-class labs, engage in a 1-credit hour research skills course and acclimate to student-life. Peer mentors for the program will take the lead on creating an inclusive community by living in the same residential hall as the participants and offering intentional mentorship and engaging programing throughout the four-weeks.
Peer mentors will be responsible for planning and facilitating evening and weekend group activities, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants in the program, enforcing residential rules and policies, and sharing their knowledge and experiences with the Catalyst participants.
Residential Peer Mentors will begin assisting in summer planning for a total of 40 hours (at $18/hour) from early May to June. The planning can either be completed in-person and/or remotely. From June 19th through July 19th, Residential Peer mentors will be paid a salary of $3,000 to support the staff and students of the Summer Catalyst program during the program, including nights and weekends for an average of 40 hours/week during the four-weeks.
